Sealants

To protect your teeth against tooth decay and cavities, Dr. Taylor may place one or more dental sealants. A sealant is a clear or tooth-colored plastic material applied to the back teeth’s chewing surfaces, where tooth decay is most likely to occur. A dental sealant will create a smooth surface over the back teeth’s pits and grooves that is easier to keep clean and free from decay with daily brushing and flossing.

Dr. Taylor may recommend having dental sealants placed on the back teeth as soon as they erupt, which usually occurs between the ages of six and twelve.
